A stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) outlines best management practices to treat, store, and filtrate water runoff onsite before it can affect water bodies downstream. These practices can include large-scale innovative site designs that reduce imperviousness and/or smaller-scale low-impact development practices dispersed throughout a site.
SWPPP’s mitigate the negative impacts of stormwater from impervious surfaces. This helps improve local and regional water quality by reducing pollution to lakes, rivers, streams, and coastal areas.
