A Better City - 33 Broad Street, 3rd Floor, Boston MA

Join us for our next Sustainable Buildings Initiative meeting on October 11th to hear from building managers who have recently completed a Building Operator Control Training.

Thirty municipal building managers from the Cities of Boston, Cambridge and the surrounding area completed a 72 hour utility-funded Building Operator Certification (BOC) Training in recent months. Representatives from Boston Police Department, Boston Public Schools, Cambridge Public Works and more learned best practices in managing building HVAC systems, controls, lighting and indoor environmental quality.

Hear directly from experienced building professionals who participated in the training to learn how your properties and facilities staff could benefit from training such as these.

This is an opportunity to provide input into the Boston Environment Department's draft guidance documents and reporting forms that are designed to cover all of the details on pathways to compliance for the Energy Action and Assessment requirement. This input will help ensure that there are sufficient, reasonable, and flexible enough pathways for compliance covering BERDO buildings. Furthermore, this feedback will assist the City in ensuring that these pathways for compliance are easy to understand and accessible for all covered owners and managers. The City wants to work together with buildings to help us meet Boston’s climate reduction goals and ensure ordinance compliance for all buildings.

Adam Jacobs is the City of Boston's Energy Manager where he assists in the identification of projects to reduce energy and water consumption at City facilities, Jacob also works with numerous stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, quality and integrity of energy data, analysis and reports, essential for tracking progress towards meeting clean energy goals. An additional speaker will be announced shortly. Applications and utility training reimbursement materials for trainings will also be on hand.

Lunch will be provided
